NYC FIRST is building out a new STEM-based civic infrastructure that broadens resources, delivers opportunity and sets young people on pathways to success academically and professionally. Role and Responsibilities
NYC FIRST is seeking an experienced Development Coordinator to contribute to our fundraising efforts by helping to research, identify, cultivate, and steward individual and institutional donors. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will collaborate closely with the Institutional Giving Manager and other staff members to:
- Research and track prospective donors: Utilize Foundation Directory and other resources to identify potential funders, maintain accurate records of donor and prospect information, and support income reconciliation, in our Neon One CRM.
- Help manage donor information and activities: Track and update donor interactions, maintain up-to-date donor lists, and support the planning and implementation of donor stewardship activities.
- Support fundraising initiatives: Assist in the creation of customized proposals and reports, fulfill donor and sponsor recognition at events, and contribute to the organization's annual gala fundraising event.
- Coordinate sponsor funds: Work with program staff to allocate sponsor funds to robotics teams and communicate directly with teams, as needed.
- Manage administrative tasks: Track department expenses, schedule meetings and donor visits, and represent NYC FIRST at events. Draft and produce emails and letters, including solicitations and donor acknowledgements.
Required Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and efficiently manage complex projects.
- Excellent attention to detail. Meticulous approach to data entry, recordkeeping, and administrative tasks.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Comfort with using technology and willingness to learn new programs, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and CRM software.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally, both independently and through collaboration with others.
- At least two years of experience in development or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Familiarity with Constituent Relationship Management systems (e.g., Neon One, The Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
Additional Information:
- This is a hybrid position that requires the Development Coordinator to be physically present at NYC FIRST's STEM Centers at least three days per week. The specific schedule will be determined based on individual workload and team needs.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
Compensation
The starting salary for this position is $50,0000 commensurate with experience. Additionally, NYC FIRST provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; four weeks of paid vacation time per year; paid federal holidays.
