What is Robot In A Box?

Robot-in-a-Box, a product by NYC FIRST, is an ambitious project to get an ultralow-cost robot into the hands of any child in New York City who wants one, creating a spark that sustains an interest in STEM through our experiential kit-based learning program.

Our Inspiration:

Born out of a desire for innovation in the midst of the pandemic, NYC FIRST began creating hands-on robotics kits to answer the question “How do you teach robotics through a computer screen”? The answer lay in developing a makerspace experience in a kit where kids could explore, tinker, and ultimately build an infinite variety of robots.
